DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING (CSE)

GENERAL

This Department was established since inception ie: 2001 with an intake of 60. The first batch turned out in 2005 was of high profile academic achievers. The Department has thus produced a higher number of distinction and much more first class holders. Majority of the students have already been placed in National and International Companies.

CSE OBJECTIVE

Realizing the importance of multinational companies eyeing India as the bastion for software production, the Department’s objective is to train the students in both theory and practice on one side and in software, hardware development on the other side, so that they become competent software and hardware professional. In this way the Department aims to produce them to become employable on their own skills.

COMPUTER CENTRE

The centralized Computer Centre has been fully air conditioned. At a time 180 students can work individually.The system configuration is mostly Pentium III and Pentium IV. Software and packages as per norms of AICTE and Anna University are loaded. Hardware peripheral facilities are available in plenty. As of now, BSNL has supplied leased line Internet facility and is made available a separate Internet Lab. Besides, action has been taken to go for Broad Band Internet Connection.

STUDENTS’ AND TEACHERS’ ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Already some of the staff members and students, with a pursuit concerning research have participated in National and International Seminars. The Department itself has conducted a National level Symposium in March 2005.
